Our very first record was released yesterday and it's already almost sold out! We've got a few copies left, so you better hurry up if you want one... If you're curious about how they look you can take a peek here:





I started shipping the records today, so me and a couple of friends had a packing party last night. The results are pretty cool in my opinion:

16th of September 2009IDIOT001: bob hund - Fantastiskt

Words cannot describe how proud I am that the first release of idiotRecords will be an exclusive 10 inch vinyl by none other than bob hund. The single is printed in only 555 copies on gold vinyl! It will be on sale from the 23rd of September, but you can reserve your copy now in our webshop. bob hund is by far the most entertaining and creative band in Scandinavia so we couldn't be happier to release an exclusive single of theirs. The coverart is made by Martin Kann and is inspired by the auction the band held in March this year, where they sold this song as an edition of one record player. The record will be sold on this website, on bob hunds gigs this fall and in selected record stores in Norway and Sweden.

15th of September 2009Things are getting started!

The secret of our first release will be revealed tomorrow! We are super excited and eager to get this adventure started. But there are a few items left to fix. We're going to Stockholm this weekend to pick the vinyls up. And we need to sort out the shipping situation. So there will only be a "reserve a copy" option and not a regular preorder thing tomorrow.

Our catalog is not big, but damn it's good! We are very proud of our (only) record so far and we hope to release something else soon!
IDIOT001bob hund - Fantastiskt

Our first release is by none other than the brilliant bob hund! This is an exclusive version of "Fantastiskt" from the magnificent "Folkmusik för folk som inte kan bete sig som folk" album. This is the only official release of this song, other than a record player that was sold on eBay for 3650$ in March 2009.

Released as a 10 inch vinyl on the 23rd of September 2009. Only 555 copies are available.

So you wanna know what the hell this is? Well, there's not that much to say... We've just started this little adventure and the short version of our philosophy is that we want to spread good music to good people! Oh, and we like hugs. And by "we" I mean only me.
Philosophy
Our intention is not to make money on our releases. We want to give music lovers a chance to buy their favorite music on a great medium. But we realize that not everybody wants vinyl (or can even play it!) so we will also release all of our music for free as mp3s. Why? Because it's all about the music. If you want to hear it; go ahead and hear it! If you like it, you might buy it and hopefully tell your friends about it. Either way everybody wins since the music is spread around. We want to give creative and innovative artists a chance to release their music. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah sings in one of their songs: "You look like David Bowie, but you've got nothing new to show me" and we love that quote. We want to see and hear something new. Something different. And when we discover something special, we will work hard to get that music out to you! What we're really trying to say is that we don't care about Britney Spears' tits.
